We consider our interns to be those who live lives of devotion, honor, and high standards. This is to be a season of consecration to God where certain standards are maintained beyond what one may maintain in their “ordinary life.” We believe this season will produce fruit that can change the course of our interns’ lives and thus we outline these standards with sober expectation and joyful anticipation.

Devotion

We live lives reflecting our love, surrender, and submission to God and one another.

All interns are expected to maintain a spiritually disciplined life. Daily private prayer and devotion cannot be replaced by corporate settings. You
are encouraged to maintain a journal of your dreams, visions, revelations and experiences.

In our work we are diligent and creative, devoted to the calling upon Streams Ministries to advance the Kingdom of God, helping others reach the
purpose for which they were created.

The fruit of the Spirit is cultivated through a life of devotion.

Honor

We seek to prefer others in all things knowing there are times when we must lay down oour own personal freedoms in order that we not infringe on anther’s.

We are thankful in all situations. We praise God for His gifts to us of our surroundings, food, internship program, leaders and each other.

We steward property and resources as service unto God.

We comfort instead of criticize, and compliment instead of complain.

We receive our leaders and staff as appointed to nurture our character and growth.

Slandering SSOM, the leaders, pastors, or church is prohibited. Knowledge of slander must be reported.

In relationships, offenses happen; we treat one another with kindness and forbearance when wronged. When we disagree we continue to love
and respect those we disagree with. We maintain the credo grace, grace.

We believe character is more important than gift. Part of character is the discipline of developing one’s gifts, but gift alone is not sufficient to
maintain a calling.

Standards

This is to be a season unto God. Dating is not permitted between interns.

-We believe so highly in  the power of community that we want our interns to be free from the exclusivity brought about by dating among interns

-The intern community is to be a safe place for men and women to find healing and restoration and reclaim proper relationships among brothers and sisters in Christ

-Our intent is not to legislate emotions but navigate behavior in a healthy manner, therefore, staff are available for counsel should emotions arise toward another intern.

Use of profanity, loss of temper, and gossip is not allowed.

Immodest dress and/or impure behavior will be corrected.

Curfew is set at 10 p.m. weekdays and 11 p.m. weekends. All exceptions must be cleared by leadership.

-Curfew in this case refers to all interns being in their own living areas

The bedrooms of the opposite sex are off limits. All exceptions must be cleared by leadership.

On scheduled road trips/overnights, we have separate rooms for males and females in order to avoid any appearance of evil.

Internship properties are off limits to visitors unless pre-arranged. House visitors are permitted during designated times.

No overnight stays during non-Internship events are permitted without signed approval from Streams School of Ministry Staff.

Tobacco, alcohol, and illegal drug use is prohibited. These violations will be considered grounds for removal from the program.

We have a strict Three Strike Rule when it comes to violations of our rules and standards. The three strikes are as follows.

1. First offense will result in correction by a leader and it will be documented and placed in your file.

2. Second offense will be followed by a meeting with the Executive Director and a phone call to your parents when applicable.

3. Third offense will result in dismissal from the program at intern’s expense.
